Louise signs to Ministry Of Sound
Louise Redknapp has become the first signing to the Ministry Of Sound's brand new recording venture, Metrophonic Records.
Metrophonic is the Ministry's latest foray outside of their dance music background. MOS chief Matt Jagger said: 'Louise is an already proven hit artist, and with Brian Rawling and the Metrophonic crew behind her and with our marketing clout, we are convinced Louise can achieve career high in both the UK and internationally.'
Brian Rawling is the producer behind Cher's career upturn in 1998 and her No 1 single Believe. Rawling has also worked with the likes of Kylie, Whitney Houston and Enrique Iglesias.
'To work with Brian Rawling and all his fabulous songwriters and producers is an irresistible, creative concoction,' said Louise.
Louise has been seeking a deal ever since leaving her former label EMI last year.
Recently, Louise has appeared on SM:tv as a guest presenter. But when worldpop asked Louise at the show recently whether she would ever give up music to turn to TV presenting she said: 'No. I still get a real buzz from music and after my recent tour it's made me hungry to record again.'
Louise's last foray into the charts was her cover of the 1978 Stealer's Wheel song Stuck In The Middle With You which reached the UK Top 10 last September. Over her 10-year recording career, Louise has sold three million albums, as a solo artist and as part of '90s girl group Eternal.
