The furore over Cliff Richard's Number One continues, with former Eternal temptress Louise backing the ageing crooner.

Cliff has come under fire from all angles in the last month, after his bizarre blend of 'The Lord's Prayer' and 'Auld Lang Syne' stormed to the top of the charts, where it has stayed for three weeks.

Earlier in the week, Mel C branded the track 'a complete pile of s***', while George Michael suggested Sir Cliff was taking advantage of people's religious beliefs.

Louise has reacted angrily to 'Indie' Spice's comments and defended Cliff's position: 'No-one can say anything about his dedication to the music business it's certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Good for him go for gold Cliff'.

She also sniped at Mel C's image and said she wouldn't be getting a tattoo or a cropped haircut, because 'that's what I am - a pop artist - and I like it that way.'
