Louise left Eternal, the group she formed with her friend Kéllé Bryan, last year to pursue a solo career. The move paid off, because the hits keep coming. Josephine Hocking charts her rise.
Born - Louise Nurding on November 4 1974 in Lewisham Hospital, South London. She was the first baby and is now big sister to nine-year-old Joseph and Sam, who is six.
Age 4 - Louise's earliest memory is "helping out" on her grandad's vegetable stall in Lewisham Market.
Age 5 - Loves singing and dancing and remembers locking her bedroom door and practising routines. Her favourite group is the not-very-fashionable Nolan Sisters.
Age 8 - When the family moves, she starts at St Thomas More Primary in Eltham, South London. Louise says she was "not very academic", but loved acting in school plays.
Age 9 - Meets her first boyfriend Terry Hill, but never kisses him. She also plays a singing rainbow in the school nativity.
Age 10 - Her headmistress puts Louise up for an audition at the Italia Conti stage school. She has to sing a song, do some tap and ballet and read a poem.
Age 11 - On her birthday, Louise hears that she has won a scholarship to Italia Conti. Meets Kéllé Bryan on her first day there. "Being friends at school then doing Eternal means Kéllé and I saw each other every day for ten years," says Louise.
Age 13 - Louise's favourite singers are black soul stars like Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, which shocks her classmates who are all into Bros (the Take That of their day).
Age 16 - Meets Denis Ingoldsby, the future manager of Eternal. "He asked me if I could sing and invited me to join a group. I introduced him to Kéllé and then we met Easther and Vernie," says Louise. The girls called their Eternal because "we wanted to last forever".
Age 18 - Eternal's first single, 'Stay', reaches Number Four. "All I've ever wanted to do is to be a singer, so it was amazing seeing our first record become a hit."
Age 19 - Eternal's first album, 'Always & Forever', is a major hit.
Age 20 - Leaves Eternal. "It's hard being in a group, there are rules and regulations you have to stick to, and it didn't suit me," she says, though she is still good friends with the rest of Eternal. Releases first solo single 'Light of My Life', which goes to Number Eight.
Age 21 - According to the tabloids Louise is going out with Liverpool footballer Jamie Redknapp but she insists the pair are "just good friends" and is still waiting to meet the right man. Louise knows Jamie through Robbie Williams, another good mate, as are Sean Maguire and Boyzone. Has her second solo hit with 'In Walked Love'.
Louise's new single 'Naked' is released this weekend, with an album of the same name out next month.
